Very excited to start work on an incredible community theatre project that comes to the Tivoli in Wimborne next May. Project Play has visited the town twice before, with productions of 'Allo 'Allo and The Vicar of Dibley. It brings together local people from all walks of life to put together a brand new stage production in their local theatre, offering both on-stage and back-stage roles.
For me, this is everything theatre should be - inclusive, local and fun!
I'll be working with Project Play to generate awareness for their Wimborne auditions for the 2020 production of TV sitcom classic Dad's Army. If you think you've got what it takes to play an iconic character such as Captain Mainwaring, Sergeant Wilson, Lance Corporal Jones or Private Pike, then get yourself along to the script read-through at Wimborne Town Hall on 3 October and the auditions on 6 October. And ladies - "don't panic!" - there are plenty of female roles up for grabs in this production as well.
You can find full details on how to register at the Project Play Facebook page, where you can also ask any questions and see photos from previous year's productions.
What an incredible opportunity this is for anyone in the Wimborne area who loves acting or being part of a production. Project Play is visiting a number of theatres around the south west in 2020, and the Wimborne production takes place from 30 April - 2 May.
Plenty of time to learn those lines and brush up on your acting skills!
